PSBB Applied to Bogor, Depok, Bekasi | How to Keep Your Life Together while #StayingAtHome

Dear WhatsNewIndonesia Readers,

Last Friday, Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan officially imposed the large-scale social restrictions (PSBB) in a bid to slow the spread of COVID-19, after the city capital became the national epicenter of the outbreak. Non-essential businesses are required to cease all activities and residents are not allowed to go out except to procure basic necessities. Food vendors are allowed to remain open but only to serve takeaway, while public transport services will operate on a limited schedule.

Essential businesses include health, F&B, energy, communications, finance (banks & stock market), logistics, retail (for basic needs), and NGOs handling relief funds and ongoing mitigation efforts. This social restriction will be enforced until midnight on April 24 and is open to extension.

Meanwhile, Bogor, Depok, and Bekasi will follow suit and impose the PSBB starting today (April 15th) and will last for 14 days, as confirmed by West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil last Sunday.  He also announced Bandung Raya to apply the restriction starting next week (April 22).

On the other hand, despite its increasing number of COVID-19, Bali has no intention of implementing similar large-scale social restrictions (PSBB) to stop the virus transmission because it had not reached a high number of local transmissions such as that in Jakarta, Governor Wayan Koster argued.

While you do your part and keeping you and your family safe at home, we have compiled some #stayathome tips and ideas for you to stay healthy, productive, and—let's face it—sane(!).

Learn to cook, paint, self-defense, and other skills from these online resources; order yourself good food both for you and your pet and maybe even some booze; these healthy catering services is also ideal to make sure quarantine doesn't equal junk-food-A-thon; and of course, don't forget to keep moving.

Better yet, take yourself isolation to another level and enjoy a staycation in one of these hotels with their luxury 'quarantine stay' deals in Jakarta and Bandung.

Stay safe and healthy, friends!

Cheers,
