Pay-Now-Stay-Later Deals in Bali and Jakarta | Hampers Ideas for Eid’l Fitri Gift

Some news highlights for this week:  The Indonesian government has decided to roll out a Rp 641.17 trillion (US$43 billion) economic recovery stimulus to soften the impact of COVID-19 on micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), as well as state-owned enterprises (SOEs, the Jakarta Post reports. Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati said this stimulus would include a strengthened social safety net, tax incentives, capital injections into SOEs and interest rate subsidies for MSMEs, among others.

After previously annulled by the supreme court on March, President Joko Widodo has again raised the premiums for the Health Care and Social Security Agency (BPJS Kesehatan), using the Presidential Regulation (Perpres) No. 64/2020 on health insurance, signed May 5th and effective immediately.

The government also has been mulling over the plan to start easing the COVID-19 social restrictions in June to allow businesses to resume operations gradually, and to eventually restore "business as usual" by the end of July, said Raden Pardede, the special adviser to the Coordinating Economic Minister last Monday.

But while we hunker down and continue to #stayathome, we invite you to check out these online 'webinars' and events where you can learn, explore new opportunities and get our ideas flowing.

However, after being deprived of the outside world for months, I'm sure nothing sounds better than the idea of a real vacation. Unfortunately, looks like it's going to be a little while until we can even start thinking about vacation.

Or is it? With all the time you have at home, there's no excuse for you to not plan it really really well this time. Call it a vacation meditation, perhaps? Let's start by taking a pick from one of these crazy pay now stay later deals in Bali and Jakarta to get the ball rolling (sort of) and to get your mind going.

And with Eid'l Fitr approaching and the unlikely chance that we can gather in large groups and visit relatives, it's the more reason to think about sending nice hampers instead. Here are some ideas for you for Jakarta, Bandung, and Surabaya.

Before signing off, let me remind you to tune in every now and then to join our LIVE instagram broadcast that feature series of 'takeovers', virtual tours, live cooking, and other fun stuff. See you there!

Until next time!
